Tips from Dorothy Panaceck:

Dorothy Panaceck, founder of Stonehill Spinning and expert rug hooker, spinner and knitter.

A good tip for rug hooking is to have a digital camera.  You can take pictures of your rug as you go along and it gives you great perspective and to check to see if your colors are working.  Another way to get perspective is use a reducing glass.  They are available at Stonehill, but many quilt stores carry them too. Check in your area or call us to order one.

One of my best tips for knitters is to have a copy the Knitter’s Companion near by.  I always have mine handy! Each pattern always has some new stitch, cast on, or bind off and it makes it easy to look it up in my Knitter’s Companion.
