Texture, texture, texture.....
Recently, hookers have begun to add yarn and unspun fibers into their traditional rugs resulting in additional texture and visual effects. Our rug hooking kits: Lone Star Waving, Star Angel and Felicia showcase this mixed media. Many existing rug hooking patterns can be adapted to use both techniques. We use Edyth O’Neill’s Bandbox Squirrel pattern to demonstrate our point. Hooking with fleece is fun and easy. It is a creative way to use fiber. You can do a whole project or you can integrate it with traditional rug hooking. If you are a rug hooker, you’ll find hooking with fleece very similar. It can add great texture to your project.
